A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Android

About

Claw On Claw is a hybrid visual novel/claw machine simulator. You are in the role of Soba, a Chinese crocodile lizard and all-around claw game fiend. The game focuses around date nights with Soba's boyfriend, Graham, all of which seem to end up at the arcade's claw machine!

Win different prizes to change how the night unfolds. Try to grab them all! Get to know Graham and Soba over many dates and see where their relationship goes!

This is a game jam entry, created for the first annual All Over Me Jam, so note that some elements may be rough or missing. The game is fully playable from start to finish, so you've got nothing to lose. Check it out!

Controls

The game is primarily played with mouse or touch, but there are some optional keyboard controls when playing the claw game.

The game is very fun, even for a short time. I'm going to be biased since I saw Ranskai, and I'm a huge simp. I love both of the characters because even though the game is repetitive, it's not boring because of the unique endings.

Oh that super special ending really hit me in the heart...... so cute..

This was super cute! Great game

This was unexpectedly adorable! Short and sweet, and I love how Soba and Graham's relationship was shown. The ending was absolutely precious. Considering the entire game can be finished in less than an hour, I am shockingly delighted by how much I like both characters already. And the main game mechanic, of course, is the claw. Which feels good to use! I like the slight jank of prizes falling from the claw since it's realistic, or how you can get more than one prize at a time if you're (extremely) precise. It's simple, doesn't overstay it's welcome, and just plain cute! Thank you for sharing this game with us. <3

Oh I get it now! It's called Claw on Claw because it's Soba's claw play a claw game! That's actually pretty freakin' clever.

I was looking for something specific, I never really enjoyed VN's but I am very glad I gave this a try! It is interesting and unique, and when I realized there was a story, I'm glad I followed along to get the ending!

I would like to know the ending is one at the time only? As I catch 3 big prizes (the devil plush, pup mask and game console) at a round but only one scene shown at last.

(1 edit) (+7)

You can only see one ending per run, but the game keeps track of which endings you have seen, so it'll keep spawning the prizes that correspond to endings you haven't seen at a higher rate, and it'll always show you an ending you haven't seen yet if it can.

You can also click "Retire" after getting a prize with an ending you want to see, to save time. The run ends but endings still play.

Really fun to play!

Some of the cutscenes are really cute, especially the one with the small black box! <3

The game feels very repetitive: play the claw machine game, hope you get the right prize, and watch a cutscene. And the cutscenes aren't really that interesting, and the claw machine is not fun to control. Maybe I just need to play it more, but given the game's bland, repetitive nature, I'm not sure I want to.

I just want to let you know that I hear you and appreciate the comment, even if it's critical. The game play can be a little dry. It was a game jam entry but maybe some day we will revisit it and spice things up.
